The United States is so large geographically, and so diverse, that its almost hard to contemplate presenting it as a single place. People outside the US often have the impression of a monolithic society (often defined for them by the news they hear of the most extreme of US behaviors). But the US is far from monolithic. If you travel extensively in the US, you soon find that the US is truly a melting pot of many peoples, many perspectives, many lifestyles.

It's not possible to truly see the US without a car. Since much of our exploration of the US has been by car, the Family Snapshots in the US will often focus on the American Roadtrip.
