Traverslogue

Vienna is a truly lovely city, grand and eloquent, with a high standard of living and one of the best public transportations systems we've ever experienced. We stayed in an apartment, close in but away from the tourist area, cooked most dinners at home, and bought a one-month transit pass so we could explore freely.

Above Vienna, you'll find vineyards that produce very good Austrian wines. On this day, we were in the hills above Vienna at the tasting room of Wieninger winery, sharing carafes of wine at an outdoor table with people we met there. As the sun set in the west, a storm rolled in from the east, creating a magical ending to this already wonderful day.

Bikes are easy to rent at kiosks throughout the city, with many fully dedicated bike lanes that even have their own traffic lights.
